On February 1st, 2026, St. James’ Church in Port aux Basques welcomed into the Kingdom of God Abigail Sophia Ryan with the sacrament of baptism. Abigail was The Rev’d Kuda’s first baptism since becoming priest-in-charge here at St. James’. A warm welcome was extended to The Rev’d Mickton Phiri and his family, who joined us for worship. Rev’d Phiri serves as our Diocesan Administrator and is the rector at St. Michael and All Angels’ Church in Corner Brook. It was a beautiful church service which was followed by a fellowship in our Memorial Centre.
