The cornerstone of Holy Trinity Church in Meadows, Newfoundland, reads “June 1951,” so on June 28, 2026, we celebrated 75 years of faith, hope, and love. The church was built by Murdock Brake Sr., Frank Brake, Rouse Brake, and Lloyd Anderson, along with a great deal of volunteer labour and love.
Our minister, The Rev’d Greg Loder, was the officiant at the celebration, assisted by several past ministers who have served at Holy Trinity. The sermon was preached by The Rev’d Malcolm Palmer, and Holy Communion was presided over by Archdeacon Charlene Laing. Also in attendance were The Rev’d Allan Brake and The Rev’d Madonna Boone, both born and raised in Meadows, and both ordained right here at their hometown church.
Music for the service, which was attended by more than 100 people, was provided by Emily Bolt and Ted Taylor. Following the service, a catered meal was held at the Meadows Community Hall.
It was a beautiful afternoon and a glorious service! It was wonderful to see so many filling the pews of Holy Trinity. It was truly a blessed day in the life of our parish, and many thanks go out to the committee who organized such a memorable event.
