Terri Parrill, President of the ACW, welcomed the ladies of the Parish of St. Michael and All Angels on June 16, 2026, to their summer closing luncheon. The ladies were served a wonderful lunch of pizza, garlic fingers, salad, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and peach and cherry flaky desserts in the Common Room at West Valley Gardens in Corner Brook. The group sang “Johnny Appleseed” for grace in honour of Myra Shears, who passed away this past spring. During the luncheon, longtime member Triffie Sibley was honoured with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her birthday.
Terri Parrill commented on the very busy season they had this past fall, winter, and spring. The ACW consists of dedicated women of the parish who work diligently within several ministries in the church. Some of the activities included Prayer Breakfasts, hospitality teams for post-service tea and coffee, weekly card games, Corner Brook Winter Carnival events, seasonal celebration lunches and dinners, and catering for special events within the parish and the community. The ACW is greatly appreciative of the assistance from the Men’s Fellowship of the Parish, as well as the Rev’d Mickton Phiri and Archdeacon Edward King. As they reflect on the past year and look forward to a relaxing summer, they prepare for Back to Church Sunday and the start of a new season of service in the church and community.
