Bearing in mind the weather in our province in May, many people are anxious to see evidence that spring is in the air. Scientists have established a correlation between the brightness of spring and certain changes within our brain which lead to improved mental health. With that in mind, our ACW planned our Flowers in May Cafe to include bright images of the season which we hoped would help people capture the spirit of spring. We had approximately 90 people in attendance—many of whom wore fancy dresses and hats. With many of our active members now in their 80s, this event was made possible because of the kindness of younger members of our church family, who helped to serve and clean up while us older folks enjoyed a cup of tea with friends. Their help was greatly appreciated.
